I have greatly enjoyed my time in Oregon. Today (June 7, I know this will be posted on June 8 due to timezone) my aunt, counsin Ryan, his wife Maria and her son Jimmy went up to Mt. Hood. Unfortunately the weather continued to disappoint and I saw just as much there as I did in Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens: nothing! Oh well.
We came back to the house after being away for a good long while and my counsin Jennifer came over and we had a nice family dinner. One of my aunt’s friends also came by. We had some grilled salmon, chicken, and some other delicious sides. It was the best meal I’ve had since leaving home. Home cooked meals are the best!
Anyway phase 2 of the trip is about to start. I’m rapidly running out of time. I’m cutting out seeing Crater Lake and Lake Tahoe. There simply isn’t enough time to see them anymore at this point.
The plan from now until I start the great trek east is tomorrow drive down the Orgeon coast and get to Redwood National Park, or very close to it. Tuesday I’ll tour Redwood National Park a bit and then start a hard drive toward Yosemite National Park. I plan to camp near or at Yosemite, depending on the weather. I’ll spend Wednesday touring Yosemite and camp probably in the same spot as I will on Tuesday night. Thursday I will drive to San Francisco airport and pickup my friend from Boston. From there, I don’t know what my plans will be. I want to tour the city on Thursday and Friday (June 12). On the 13th I will start driving east. To get back by the 19th, it will require some serious driving (over 500 miles a day). I haven’t decided on the route I want to take back but I’d like to stick to the south. I have more time to think about it.
I still haven’t posted any new pics. I have been busy and not wanting to spend a lot of time on the computer. I’ll get them up, eventually! All the pics I’ve already uploaded are better than any of the new stuff anyway.
Well, time to get to bed. I’ve got a lot of ground to cover tomorrow (June 8).
